The Online Resources Guide - an introduction

This website aims to provide an overview of the basic services available on campus and in Canberra which might be useful for both mentors and students. It should be remembered that one of the mentor's main roles is to act as a first contact point who can refer students to sources of guidance and support. This guide, while far from exhaustive, can be used as part of this referral step.

The services and contacts have been organized around the following five categories based on the standard types of issues that can students can face:

• Study or Learning Related Resources
• Health and Wellbeing Resources
• Dealing with Isolation, Disconnection or Loneliness
• Life matters (including relationship, living or legal issues)
• Spiritual Resources

Although the categories inevitably overlap, it is hoped that these categories will make the website a more user-friendly resource for identifying appropriate services.

Given the number of services and help-points available, we have had to be selective. However, the site should be considered an evolving work-in-progress: if you come across other services that you think we should include, or have found certain services better or worse than others, please bring this information to the attention of the College Student Mentoring and Pastoral Care Committee.
