Biography

Heather Roberts teaches constitutional law, property law and equity and trusts. Her research examines Australian constitutional law, with a biographical focus. After graduating from the ANU in 1999, Heather worked as a solicitor at Freehills in Canberra. She returned to the Faculty in 2002 as a PhD student and tutor and worked as a research fellow on a biographical study of a Justice of the High Court. Her PhD thesis examined the constitutional jurisprudence of Justice Deane.

She is currently working on a comparative analysis of the swearing-in speeches of Australian High Court judges and developing a framework for an oral history of trailblazing women lawyers in Australia.
