| Biography |
Peta Spender is a Professor of Law.
After graduating from the University of New South Wales and University of Sydney, she practised as a lawyer for several years in Sydney specialising in corporate and commercial law and commercial litigation. She commenced her academic career at the University of New South Wales and then relocated to Canberra after discovering ANU and the joys of life in Canberra.
In her spare time she struggles with the offside rule, formerly as a player, now mainly as a spectator.

| Scholarly Interests |
Prof. Spender specialises in corporate law, financial market regulation and litigation. She is currently researching, writing and supervising doctoral students in the areas of class actions, litigation, asbestos, corporate governance and insolvency. She is part of an international research team investigating the class action regimes in Australia, the US and England.
