Assistance. The names of successful applicants, their project title and
the amount awarded will be posted on the College research website. All
successful applicants will be required to report in writing to the Research
Committee on the outcomes of the grant within 18 months of award.
Aims:
The aim of the scheme is to provide limited funding to assist in the research
activities of members of the College. A grant may be used for a range
of research-related activities such as but not restricted to the following:
- Research assistance for a project or proposal in the form of library,
archival and electronic data base research; bibliographic and index
compilations; case analysis; the conduct of interviews and other field
work; statistical analysis; court observations;
- Grant Application Assistance to assist in the preparation of ARC Discovery
and Linkage Grants;
- Early Career Research Assistance to support and encourage early career
academics to undertake research and to establish research profiles.
To qualify as an early career researcher a staff member must be at the
initial stage of an academic research career, at Level A or B with at
least a 40% fractional appointment with both teaching and research duties,
AND have held an appointment for less than two years AND not have previously
held a grant of more than $5,000.
Conditions:
- Each grant will be for a maximum of $4,000;
- There will be a maximum of one application per person. This rule
applies regardless of the number of investigators on a project;\
- Preference will be given to early career researchers. The expectation
is that more senior staff will access external sources of funding.
