Groupwise FAQ
You can read the full GroupWise Instruction Manual by clicking here if you like, or read the information on the topics below to get a feel for the major functions. Naturally, you can also contact the IT&C Unit Helpdesk if you need further explanation or have questions that are not covered on this page.
We don't actually have a maximum size limit on the emails that can be sent out from here, but most places (including us) have a limit on how big a message they can receive.
Here, you can at least use the GWAVA system to release any oversize emails that are sent to you. Many external places will just bounce you back a message saying "sorry, the attachments you have sent are too large". That is something out of our control, but we can definitely try assist you to shrink the size of your attachments or find a way to split them up over multiple messages to get out to external addresses.
Away messages are created in the "Rules" section of GroupWise.
Here is a quick example of how to set up a Vacation Rule.
We use appointments for a variety of tasks: setting up meetings with people, personal reminders, booking rooms and equipment.
This example tutorial demonstrates using an appointment to book a piece of equipment, but the same principle applies to sending an appointment to another staff member when arranging a meeting.

The Document Library is a file storage system on GroupWise. It can be used as a way of working on a document at the College of Law and then accessing it from home without needing to copy backwards and forwards on a USB memory stick.
Documents can be placed in the Document Library either manually adding them in, or by using the "Save As New Document" option when saving a file from within the College (as opposed to Save Document Using Application Dialog, which takes you to the standard file saving options).
You can access these files in the Documents section of your GroupWise folder list (usually underneath the mailbox, trash and calendar folders).
