The College is aware of the dependence on IT in our
everyday life and has made a commitment to assisting
staff with all aspects of the Faculty environment so
that it can be used as easily as possible. To that end
the IT & C Unit has produced this web site that
is an extention of the Faculty's induction handbook
so that you can gain an understanding of what technology
we currently use and what technology is available to
you.
On the table to the left is a quick view 'service
status' that should show you what is happening with
the network, as we know it, at any given time. We
will update the status regularly if there is a problem
and should link you to any downtime notices that have
been scheduled by either us or the rest of the ANU that
will affect the services that we use.
In the menu bar to the left is a variety of links
that we feel are important for you to know
about however we are more than happy to modify the
links if you feel that something is missing or that
something needs more prominence.
I encourage you to look through this guide and acquaint
yourself with the various topics as they may answer
some of your initial questions. I also encourage you
to drop in, see us, ask questions, get advice, give
advice, see what we are doing, learn what we have
to help you and teach us what we need to get to help
you. Remember, the one thing that you will probably
tell your students also apply to you, ‘If you
don’t ask the question, you will never find
out the answer’.
