Current Issues in Federal Crime and Sentencing is the fourth sentencing conference jointly hosted by the National Judicial College and the ANU College of Law. The topics to be covered reflect aspects of federal criminal law that result from Australia’s increasing involvement with the world beyond its physical and virtual borders. The conference will focus on themes such as cybercrime, people smuggling, terrorism and the implications for the Migration Act of global movements of refugees and displaced persons. The conference will offer a number of panel sessions as well as papers, and the presenters will include distinguished judicial officers and leading practitioners.
