ALS Graduate Master Classes

5 – 9 December 2011

We are offering two advanced classes right after the conference, each giving intense exposure (five half-days) to an important new development in the field:

• Fiona Jordan (MPI Nijmegen) Cultural Phylogenetics
• Joan Bresnan (Stanford) Probabilistic syntax

One course will run in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Participants may attend either courses or both. All participants should bring their own laptops for practical exercises.

Places are limited, so register your preliminary interest to als.2011@anu.edu.au soon. We cannot yet guarantee a place to all interested applicants.

Preference will be given to doctoral students.

The master classes will take place at ANU’s South Coast campus, the Kioloa field station.

The registration fee includes the cost of accommodation at the field station in shared cottages, transport to and from Canberra, and food, and course attendance (please go to the Registration page to register).
