Best Conference Postgraduate Paper
The best postgraduate conference paper is chosen from among the postgraduate
papers submitted for refereeing prior to the conference. The following
process applies:
| 1 |
On
the basis of referees’ comments (original research; high quality
argument; coherent internal organization) each stream coordinator
nominates the best postgraduate paper from their stream. |
| 2 |
A
small sub-committee then (individually) read and rank these papers,
applying the following criteria: |
| |
> |
degree
of originality; |
| |
> |
use of appropriate primary sources; |
| |
> |
coherence
of argument; |
| |
> |
sophistication
of analysis; and |
| |
> |
clearly
meriting publication in a fully refereed political science journal. |
| |
> |
A
brief meeting is then held at which the rankings are compared to
form a consensual decision. |
The
Award of $1,000 and a trophy will be presented to the winner at the
annual conference dinner.
