Best Conference Postgraduate Paper

The best postgraduate conference paper is chosen from among the postgraduate papers submitted for refereeing prior to the conference. The following process applies:

1 On the basis of referees’ comments (original research; high quality argument; coherent internal organization) each stream coordinator nominates the best postgraduate paper from their stream.
2 A small sub-committee then (individually) read and rank these papers, applying the following criteria:
  > degree of originality;
  > use of appropriate primary sources;
  > coherence of argument;
  > sophistication of analysis; and
  > clearly meriting publication in a fully refereed political science journal.
  > A brief meeting is then held at which the rankings are compared to form a consensual decision.

The Award of $1,000 and a trophy will be presented to the winner at the annual conference dinner.
