DAVID TEECE AustLEA SCHOLARSHIPS
We have recently introduced the David Teece AustLEA Scholarship programme. Professor David Teece, Mitsubishi Bank Professor at the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley and global Chairman of LECG, has agreed to sponsor a scholarship programme through AustLEA. The programme will seek to identify and recognise top scholars within Australian universities for their study/work in the economic analysis of law and legal institutions. We have contacted all Australian Universities and requested nominations for the 2001 scholarships, the recipients will be announced late September and acknowledged at the AustLEA Conference on 1 November, we hope that the scholars will be able to attend the Conference aswell.

AustLEA CONFERENCE & AGM
Planning is well underway for this years Conference and AGM being held on Thursday 1 November at the ANU in Canberra.

Conference information including the registration form will be available on the AustLEA website (details will be emailed to you soon). In the interim you can access conference details and forms for registration at: http//law.anu.edu.au/WhoWhat/OurConferences/OurConferences.html

The theme of the conference is Public Law, Economics & Management. With a federal election pending, it is timely to review the performance of the public sector and the quality of public choice in Australian society and economy. It is hoped the conference may facilitate new insights on the role of public law and public sector management affecting decisions in cabinet rooms, court rooms and board rooms, on significant policy matters.

Keynote speakers include Professor Glenn Withers, Dr Graham Scott and Professor Phillip Williams. We have received abstract submissions for the workshops, there are a limited number of spaces and anyone wishing to submit an abstract should email to blogue@lecg.com.
