The Research Program

The initial work of the project will produce newsletters and published articles relating to:  

The impact of WTO law upon Chinese law; and  
The negotiation of the accession of China to the WTO.
The next stage of the research will focus on specific industry sectors:  
The impact of Chinese accession on selected Chinese industries; and  
The impact of Chinese accession on selected Australian industries.
The third aspect of the research will be a consideration of the Chinese accession on the WTO including:  
The impact on institutional features of the WTO;  
The impact on the content of legal rules binding WTO Members;  
The impact on the WTO legal system; and  
The impact on future trade negotiations.
