Application Form: Student Mentor 2010

This form is to be read alongside the Student Mentoring Scheme Guidelines

Eligibility and criteria:

Students who:

• will be enrolled in law courses in the ANU College of Law in first semester 2010;
• have passed Foundations of Australian Law and Torts, and have passed or are, at the time of application, enrolled in Lawyers, Justice and Ethics and Contracts
• are available to attend a half-day of training during O week in 2010;
• will be appropriate role models for first year law students;
• are available to attend occasional group gatherings during the whole of the 2010 academic year;
• can draw on their own first year experience and other experiences to hold informal discussions with first year students, and refer them to appropriate sources of support and advice;
• demonstrate understanding of the role of a student mentor within the Scheme;
• can work cooperatively with staff.

• I am willing to undergo a police record check if required by the ANU College of Law to do so
