ANU Careers
Centre
The ANU Careers
Centre is available to assist with a wide range of queries - from
the general exploration of career ideas and the career implications of
subject choices, to details of specific jobs, employers, or postgraduate
courses. Our resources are available to current students and recent graduates.
The ANU Careers Centre also provides employers with advice on recruitment
strategies, how to maintain a profile on campus and assistance with targeting
suitably qualified and motivated students and graduates.
SUMMER CLERKSHIP SCHEME
Applications are now being invited from penultimate
year law students for summer employment opportunities through the NSW/ACT
Law Summer
Clerkship Scheme. Opportunities are being offered in major law firms
and government departments in both Sydney and Canberra. I would appreciate
your assistance in promoting these opportunities to students in their
penultimate year of law.
The ANU Careers Centre website at http://www.anu.edu.au/careers/currentstudents/lawclerkships/lawindex.php
outlines full details about the NSW/ACT Law Summer Clerkship Scheme including:
* conditions of participation and eligibility guidelines
* a list of participating firms
* application procedures for each firm
* key dates for recruitment
* details about opportunities for indigenous students; and
* other useful information
Your assistance in distributing this information to penultimate year
law students would be greatly appreciated. You may also wish to use the
poster in the attached document.
The Law Summer clerkship Scheme provides valuable experience to law students,
and is a very competitive and often confusing process. The Careers Centre
has attempted to provide all relevant information in a clear way however
should you, your colleagues or students require further information or
clarification please do not hesitate to contact the Careers Centre on
6125 3989.
