How to Apply

Postgraduate coursework students are required to apply through the Universities Admissions Centre (UAC).
There is an administrative fee of $45.00.
(Excludes international, non-award and research students)

Coursework Applications

Applicants from a law background: Applicants must hold an Australian Bachelor of Laws degree or equivalent. A strong pass degree or better is normally required for admission.

Applicants from a non-law background: Applicants must hold at least a three-year Australian Bachelors degree or equivalent. A strong pass degree or better is normally required for admission.

Applicants who do not hold a bachelors degree: Applicants with relevant experience but who do not hold a bachelors degree may be considered for entry, however there are additional entry requirements. For further details please contact the Postgraduate Administrator.

Non-Lawyers: Students who do not have a degree in law must include the course LAWS8153 Introduction to Legal Reasoning and Research at the beginning of their program. This is normally taught over an extended weekend in February. This requirement does not apply to students enrolled in the Environmental Law stream. All non-lawyers are also required to complete the relevant Fundamentals/Principles course, before proceeding with other enrolments.
