Ms Sophia Close commenced studies towards her PhD with NCIS in January 2008. Sophia is examining: Indigenous self-determination in Torres Strait and the Pacific region - future policy options for hybrid self-governance and investigating the relationships between Indigenous internationalism and Fourth World activism to State-based aid and development mechanisms in building Indigenous self-determination.
