ABOUT COAST SUPPORT
COAST endeavours to meet the requests made of it in a professional and timely way. Most events can be organised well in advance—the more time allowed for planning and organising, the better the Team is able to meet the requirements. COAST may employ casual staff to meet the demands of particularly busy periods.

Events

COAST can assist in organising CoL events, including the following tasks:
   •  Preparing promotional material—eg, flyers, programs, advertisements
   •  Placing information on CoL Calendar of Events and ANU Billboard
   •  Taking event rsvps
   •  Organising venues, catering, IT requirements, photography, and preparing conference packs
   •  Monitoring event budgets, payment of invoices, organising reimbursements
   •  Organising mail outs of information
   •  Booking accommodation and travel for event speakers
   •  Organising media coverage
   •  Creating conference web pages
   •  Providing staff to assist at event—eg, to staff registration desk, supervise casual staff employed especially for event
   •  Liaising with University VIP/Protocol Office and Security as necessary

Activities will retain their individual Centre identity, and will be promoted as such, but will also meet ANU corporate standards and present a unified ANU College of Law approach.

If you would like COAST support for your event please complete an electronic Event Organising Form (you will find this on your Groupwise menu bar).

Administrative Support
COAST can support CoL Centres by providing administrative support, including the following:
   •  Updating Centres’ web pages
   •  Updating and maintaining Centres’ existing email/mail lists
   •  Creating new email lists (sorted into relevant interest categories)
   •  Undertaking mailouts to Centre stakeholders
   •  Taking minutes at meetings
   •  Assisting with the organisation of CoL contracts

Centres will meet the costs incurred for expenses (eg, catering, printing, advertising, employment of casual staff, etc) and will be responsible for underwriting their major events. If a registration fee is charged, or if there is grant funding available, COAST may charge a nominal administration fee (to be negotiated at the start of any project). COAST will liaise closely with organisers to ensure they are aware of any costs, and seek approval where necessary.
